George Biddle, CPA (2012)

George Biddle, CPA (2012)
Director:  Nick Walker
IMDB Rating:  6.7 (12/29/13)
PuRock's Rating:  5 Tax Breaks (Out of 10)
If This Film Had a Sibling:  Push, Nevada (TV)

Pros:  Tax Laws, Unique Hero
Cons:  Tax Laws, Acting

Its hard to believe there aren't any critic reviews on IMDB yet for this film.  What is wrong with the world?  Are they that scared of taxes?  Well I'm not and I have Netflix streaming with a spare 107 minutes.

I give credit to the director for making something watchable based off a highly probable shoe-string budget.  George Biddle, CPA is a fearless accountant ready to save the day.  The style is that of a western where instead of shooting bullets, George Biddle lays tax knowledge to save the day (or dog for that matter).  George is the type of guy you would like to have a drink with and hope he gives you some free advice.

Its a novel attempt in what appears to be the director's first feature film.  This amid the impressive layout credits on many big name titles.  The artistic vision definitely shines through.  What doesn't is the acting, which isn't surprising for such a film.  While the dialogue can be somewhat witty and technical, the delivery of the lines come off as forced.  However I do think the acting by Cade Tomasegovich is perfect for the role of George Biddle.

Buckle up your chinstraps, we have some tax laws to battle over!
